I´m still reading "The Confession" by John Grisham and i stumbled upon this unusual verb, i guess, "to stiff-arm", and i didn´t get its meaning. I´ve googled it up but I got nowhere.
Here´s the snippet from the book where I saw this odd verb: "....He was not entirely certain what he would say to the lawyer if he got him on the phone, but he and Dana had decided they could not sit by and do nothing. When he was stiff-armed by Flak´s receptionist, he called another lawyer.
