Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine when a Jamaican guy asked for some information. After he left, I told my friend, "what a bad pronunciation eh?" which she replied "I know it's called laziness".
Do you guys think that might be the case? Some people just don't want to make all the effort necessary to pronounce words correct. From my own experience, what I have noticed in my case is, in the afternoons after a long they of work my ability to pronounce changes a little. What I'm trying to say is, around 5pm for example, I get more of those "sorry what did you say?" than in the mornings.
Another thing, during my last vacation in Montreal, after a long day I would tell people,
"Désole Je ne parle pas Français, Vous parlez Anglais?" just because I was so mentally tired. Believe me, people are really picky when you make a mistake in French. Not as much in English though...
I would like to hear some of your thoughts on that.
