WIKIPEDIA

Born and raised in the Persian Jewish community of Iran, at age 15 Samadi and his younger brother left in 1979 after the Iranian Revolution.[3] They continued their education in Belgium and London before coming to the United States where Samadi completed high school in Roslyn, NY. [4] After high school, Samadi attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook and earned his degree in biochemistry on a full scholarship

He speaks English quite well (although he sometimes stumbles over some words), but he is not a native speaker.

"To not make a sense" makes no sense to me.
