I'm a Ramalho myself (Sidney Ramalho) and it amazes me that they never mention about Americo Vespucio who came about Brazil way way before the Portuguese.
PPaulo, actually there was some kind of agreement between the Portuguese and the Spaniard. It would be funny to "discover" Brazil and not discover Argentina...lol
Another thing that bothers me is how some books and even paintings try to show our independence moment as a big war with horses and soldiers when in reality Portugal was broken and could not "afford" to maintain Brazil as a colony any longer. The only I'm glad and happy about the whole Portuguese adventure is "The last flower of Lazio" our beautiful and difficult language.
Dale, "Pau Brazil". "Pau de Brazil" might inflect in something else....lol
