The following is a snippet of a working manual I've been trying to translate into English.
Any correction would be greatly appreciated!
The purpose of the absorption system is to recover LPG and gasoline (heavier than ethane fractions) from the gases condensed in the high pressure separator HPS. It occurs when the up flowing gases in the primary absorber column (N-612) contacts, in countercurrent, with, firstly, low volatility hydrocarbon liquid (mainly gasoline) pumped from O-503 by J-601, and secondly, at the top of the column, with stabilized naphtha from the debutanizer bottom stream, pumped via J-635. The latter is crucial to the overall LPG recovery as the insufficient flow rate stream of the first one, coupled with its instabilized characteristic wouldn’t ensure proper recovery.
