Mensagem:  I'm afraid the Wizard, CCAA, Yazigi, etc. methods do not include real conversation. They do prescribe a lot of repetition and are all based on the same theory: audiolingualism.

Audiolingualism became popular in the 1950s. It is a mechanical method that demands pattern practice, drilling, and memorization but provides little functional learning. The learner remains in a passive role. They have little control over their learning. Criticism of the audiolingual methodology stresses that practical results do not meet expectations. Students are not able to transfer skills to real creative communication outside the classroom and classes tend to be boring and unsatisfying

If you want to be an efficient teacher, you must be very proficient in the language, first of all. If you are fluent with an accurate pronunciation, you have the most important tool. Books and teaching materials are secondary. The most important is to connect with your students on a personal level and provide them with a lot of comprehensible input.
