Mensagem:  Let me try to give a clearer, more serious answer.  "Run" is not an easy word to use.  It has so many meanings.  Let's stick to one of them, the one that is in your post.

A "run" is usually a sequence of things, something with a beginning and an end.  If a movie or play remains in a theater for three weeks, it has had a "three week run". or a "run of three weeks".   If you've had lots of bad luck over the past two years, you've had a "run of bad luck".

"I've had my run.  I'm done." - I've had my chance.  (I've lived my life.  I've served my term in office.)  I'm done.  (I've had my chance and I will try no more.  I'm through.  I'm finished._
