Mensagem:     One reason is, Esperanto is a language that a few master. And for that matter is one made for one people only.
Different of English that has a history of some thousands years (having matured, passing for some phases like Old English, Middle English and Comtemporary -or Modern English).
I never heard of slang in Speranto and albeit even the former Pope John Paul II speak it, and in Rome they have books in it as well (they say, I have not seen personally).
I have not seen no pope addressing your followers all over the world in that language.    No reverend, no president and no queen either.  And in the ONU and its branches I don´t know of any translator of Esperanto.
No TV channel, open or cable TV broadcasts in Esperanto, that I know of.
Only these reasons are already enough; at least, for me.
But, please, lecture me on this if I am misinformed.
