As for housework versus domestic work I use domestic work, particularly when talking about it with men, perhaps because it's a better angle for an argument and involves everything (cleaning, shopping, banking, looking after children, cooking, taxi services, booking holidays, multi-tasking, rather than just cleaning. Haven't you heard about the 'Domestic Goddess'? Check the debate on women staying at home and looking after the life of self and others... it's still there.
I was very confused about the school grades, mainly because they vary so much from country to country. Thanks for the clarification.
In maths the 's' is for mathematics. You can use both abbreviations: math or maths
