Mensagem:  In another context, "coming in tails" could also mean "coming in extremely formal evening wear".  Do you remember the old movies of Fred Astaire?  And the formal clothing he often wore in his dance routines?  That type of coat that ended in back about knee-high is called "tails".

I am not trying to confuse you, just add some information to what has already been said.
