Let's try to look at this from a different angle and see if it brings us some light:
The contrasting conjunction but is used to bring together two non-contrasting ideas.
There are two ways of fixing this:(1) either rewrite the sentence using contrasting ideas, (2)or use a non-contrasting conjunction.
1 -Going out with those two girls, what I do a lot, makes me feel good
last week I didn't feel good going out with them.
2-I have been going out a lot with these two girls
since last week I haven't been feeling good with them.
What do you think?
