Mensagem:  No offense intended to anyone, but I think Orlando has it nailed.

"She was pregnant when I traveled."
When was she pregnant?  We don´t know the date, but she became pregnant prior to my travel.
When did I travel?  We don´t know the date of the trip, however, she was already pregnant at the time (meaning she had become pregnant at some point prior to the trip).  Did I travel six years ago, six days ago, or six hours ago?  That information is not given.
Without a reference to a specific time, there is no way of knowing if she gave birth or if she is still pregnant.
