Jazz,

Thumb drive just like André explained is the most used expression in the US for flash drive.

Until today I had never heard of data traveler, then I checked online and DataTraveler is a registered brand name for thumb drives.

If we had to call a thumb drive a data traveler for me would be the same as calling an external hard drive a Western digital, just because WD is a brand name printed on the hardware.

People were pulling your leg Jazz, maybe they were just trying to outsmart you, don't believe them!
