I'm a Brazilian student and I'll participate in a student exchange program in U.S. beginning August 2010. I've heard a major source of difficulty among exchange students to that country is to follow the English Language course, especially the Literature classes in senior year - the year I'm expecting to go. Many exchange students going to senior year prefer to take a lower level class (e.g. junior year Literature classes) because the reading assignments are enormous in the last year of high school. I'm willing, however, to take the most challenging classes in this subject and I'll do whatever it takes to follow the rest of the senior class. What books should I read to prepare myself adequately? Could you order authors/books in order of difficulty in reading?
