Assunto:  To stand somebody up

Mensagem:  It just hit me that "to stand somebody up" is when you help someone to their feet who is too drunk to stand up by himself!

"Elisangela, help me stand Paulo up.  He's been nipping on that bottle of cachaca all night and his old lady will be here any minute."
