Ah, yes. And peer pressure works in the armed forces´ recruitment. When the drill sargenteants engage a group for somebody´s fault (toeing the wrong line, eh) to perform some push-ups. After the little physical effort done you expect (you betcha!) the group will love the guy that draw the attention of the drill sargenteant to the group.
As Dale pointed out, it´s more effective that yelling or physical contact; the guy won´t forget details any longer, this develops a sense of responsibility among them (you are responsible for the group´s fate, in a sense).
