Mensagem:  What is "regime aberto"?

If you are convicted of a crime, you may be granted "probation" instead being required to serve a full term in jail or prison.  If you misbehave, you can be ordered to serve more time in jail or be sent to prison.

If you are sentenced to prison, unless you are very violent and/or very stupid, you may be released early "on parole".  If you behave, after about a year parole is terminated and you have completed your sentence.  (This varies from state to state.)  Although parole is usually the result of a prison commitment, it is possible to be paroled from jail.  (There is a big difference between jail and prison in English.)
