The country I chose was United Republic of Tanzania. This is a country in central East Africa, with an area 945,203 km2; Tanzania is the world's 31st largest country.
This country has 43,739,000 population, with two official languages Swahili and English.
The official capital of Tanzania is Dodoma, where parliament is located. But the largest city is Dar es Salaam that serves as the country's political capital.
The current head of state is President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, elected in 2005. Mizengo Pinda was nominated as head of government by President Kikwete on February 2008, after the resignation of Edward Lowassa over allegations of corruption.
The shilling is the currency of Tanzania, although use of dollars is accepted.
The longest river in Tanzania is the Rufiji River. It has about 600 km long and its outfall is in the Indian Ocean.
Industry is mainly limited to processing agricultural products and to tourism. Tanzania has vast amounts of natural resources to export including gold, diamonds, coal, uranium, nickel and other minerals. It is the third-largest producer of gold in Africa.
The original people of Tanzania were from about 130 tribes right there in the country. The largest and also the most famous is the Bantu. Some of the names of the other tribes are the Makonde, the Dukuma, the Haya, the Chagga, the Nyamwezi and the Maasai.
