Mensagem:  As Breckenfeld said, "to fix" could mean to castrate, to neuter (informal American English), specially when talking about animals. I believe this word was used figuratively in the movie, so it's hard to know the exact meaning without context. The woman could be infertile (biologically unable to reproduce), could have been sterilized (by means of a surgical procedure), or could be using contraceptives. Again, the context may help in this case.
