Your examples are very accurate.
You must come spend the weekend with us. (We will have a lot of fun if you come, and you know that our house is your house. Your invitation/advice/counsel is so strong that it is almost a command.)
You must try the cachaca I found in Sao Joao del Rei. (It is fantastic! I know you will like it very much. You cannot go home without trying some.)
"Must" can even be a noun.
If you are in New York, going to see the Statue of Liberty is a must. (Something you cannot miss, something very much worthwhile)
Buy a hat as soon as you reach Salvador. It is a must. (The sun is very strong, your brains will cook like churrasco on a grill if you are not wearing a hat, etc.)
