Assunto:  except from/for

  In this case, "except for".

  From is used generally (but we can´t say "always", there are few other cases) to indicate origins (and begins) of some sort:

        I am from Brazil.

        From my point of view

        From mornig to night (início, origem - morning)

        Go from A to B

        From now on....


     etc etc...


 However, never except from... in thE sense of "exceto você (de um grupo)".
