I often hear them used interchangeably. It is common,. for example, to use "must" in an invitation. You must stay with me when you come to California next year. (Please stay with me when you come to California next year.) And daily we hear an obligation posed by another person expressed with "must"... He told me I must be at his office tomorrow at 10:00 AM without fail. (He told me I have be at his office tomorrow at 10:00 AM without fail.) |
