Im my humble opinion, it is talking about (finished) past actions, say, I listened and learned when I was a third grader, when I was a kid etc...

    So I would say:

Quanto mais eu ouvia músicas e filmes em Inglês mais eu aprendia.

The more I listened to songs and movies in English the more I learned.

     If I am not missing something, the way Dale said, would be this way in Portuguese: "quanto mais eu ouço músicas em inglês mais eu aprendo".
