Songs are a terrible place to learn grammar. Pronunciation? For the most part, yes. Grammar? No way. "Merry Christmas" is much more common and traditional than "Happy Christmas". One is not right and one is not wrong, but they are different. If you say "Happy Christmas", I seriously doubt that you will be prosecuted and possibly executed. However, "Happy Christmas" sounds a little odd to our ears and people may look at you in a funny way and correct you. Big deal. |
