Mistakes in songs are a dime a dozen (common). The push is on rhythm, not grammar. And although some songwriters are great poets, there are clearly some who couldn't order a Big Mac at MacDonalds without messing up the order.
Speaking of songs... Have you read the American National Anthem? The Star Spangled Banner has to be one of the most confusing, disjointed songs in the history of the world. I doubt if one American in one hundred can sing it without making a mistake. There is no unity. The song doesn't go from A to B to C to D. It goes from A to R to E to B to W.
