Good question. Depending on the context, it could work as a translation. "Teeth" usually refers to the ability to enforce something with sanctions (punishments, fines, etc.). You reminded me of an old saying when giving a child two handkerchiefs. You tell them, "One is for blow, one is for show." (One is to use, one is for appearances.) |
