       Let´s never generalize.  There are geniuses that learn by themselves in no time, but

it´s not the general rule.

      I think a good teacher might catalyzes the process of learning English, by showing their pupils their weaknesses and their fortes, correcting grammar, giving ideas, making them express their point of views.    

      Summing it up, helping them in any possible way they think it´s better, and trying to adjust the method to each case, since there are guys (like me) that aren´t the sharper knife in the drawer and others that learn p.d.q. (pretty damn quick).  It´s up to the teacher see different approaches to the different cases.

       There are plenty of teachers that do a lousy job, but there are learners that are equivalent to lazy PC owners that make their password "12345" and complain about the weak security!

        We have to learn with teachers and courses, without them and even in spite of  them!


        Of course, you have a point (good one indeed), but generalizing is a mistake.
