Plus, there is the "gabarito" in Northeastern region of Brazil. It´s the laying foundation of a house, building, etc. I am not sure if in other parts of Brazil they call it "gabarito", anyway in this sense I think the English meaning to "alicerce" would fit to the word just as well.
