a) Somebody might have stolen your car if you had left the keys in it.

Your car might have been stolen if your keys had been left in it.

b)Jim  didn't know about the change of plans. Nobody told him.

Jim wasn't told about the change of plans. He was told by nobody./ He wasn't told by anybody.

Of course the second sentence is not used. We preferably say: Nobody told him.
