I've heard that people from Montreal are snobbish. That would explain their impatience with language mistakes. The French are not very fond of other languages either. I also heard that the Portuguese people don't like when people try to talk to them in Spanish. I think that Brazilians are very easygoing when it comes to foreigners and language mistakes, although some might want to give others a hard time, but that's not a social rule, giving a foreigner a hard time because of language mistakes. Another point is that a tired mind makes it hard to speak a foreign language. The mind needs to be relaxed, not only the mind, the whole face, lips, jaw, etc. must be relaxed. You both have valuable input. Great food for thought. |
