When you start work you clock in, when you finish you clock out; while at work you are on the clock but off the clock means you're not getting paid (or maybe there's some kind of arrangement). Sometimes (in the US) an employee in management (managers, supervisors, etc.) can be salaried and get paid by the month instead of hourly. |
