Muita gente acha que buck = money. Nao e certo. Buck = dollar. Quase sempre, mas nao sempre! money = green stuff, bread, dough, moola, dead presidents, etc. (Sem certeza, bucks e a giria mais comum, mais usada. Do you have any bucks? NO! How much bucks do you have? NO! Whose bucks are those on the table? NO! Can you lend me a few bucks? YES! How many bucks do you have? YES! I paid three bucks for the magazine. YES! There is at least one exception to these "rules". You can say "He paid big bucks for the car" and "He earned big bucks working in Florida." In these two sentences, "bucks" is translated as "money" and not "dollars". |
