| Mensagem: | Amongst whites, it doesn't apply to all whites; at least among those whites who know what the term means. Crackers are the original settlers of the southern region of the US. Nowadays, it specifically refers to the traditional white southern culture of the states of Georgia and Florida. Some american blacks use the term disparagingly in a very broad sense for most any white person; used this way it's quite inaccurate - the term is entirely regional (unlike 'redneck', which can be more accurately used for any white person). |
