Mensagem:  I think the general rule of English is NOT to use Latin based words unless it's necessary. Using "truth" instead of "reality" would certainly be an example of that, and "reality" has four syllables compared to only one in "truth". However, there are many cases in which "truth" would be too "cheap" a substitute for "reality". If you want to say something that's quick and effective, use "truth". If you want the reader or listener to slow down and think, use "reality". "Just tell me the truth." "I question my reality."
