Mensagem: | Syd, that sounds scary indeed. I bought a 4X4 Suzuki Samurai years ago. So I had spent a night "down below" (our term for the city of San Bernadino in the valley below) and was coming up the mountain to where I was living, The Highway Patrol was asking/telling everyone to put on their chains/cables or drive in four wheel drive. So I engaged the 4X4 gearshift and away I went. I turned off to go to my little town. There was a stretch about 300 m long that was quite steep. As I was going up a huge truck was going down. The Suzuki started sliding all over. More feeling that a samba, less than a forró. I sure thought I was going to hit the truck. It was probably a few months later that I learned that it was not enough to engage the 4X4 gear shift; it was necessary to "turn" or "rotate" the front hubs. That's right; I had never been been in four sheel drive. LOL |
