Gerenciamento de Projetos, Projetos Mecânicos, Projetos Elétricos,
Gerenciamento de Projetos - project management.
Projetos mecânicos - mechanical projects (having to do with the
work per se/the undertaking of the project)
Projectos mecânicos - mechanical design (having to do with sketching/drawing but then with an outline plan).
Same goes to "projetos elétricos", but sometimes the definitions have some intersection in sense (as in Web Designer - that works, undertakes the project and is also the person that makes an outline plan).
Depending on the company the employee that is into design can be also the one that is in the charge of the work, outline the plans etc. Hence the intersection in tasks and in the job description, perhaps that´s why the mix up when it comes to the word sense.
For example, at some companies the project engineer is the one in charge of overlooking of the process (so the ones in a more senior position). So, people with more knowledge and responsible for handling the high level stuff of the project, whereas the designer would be with the execution, drawing, etc.
Notice: from a layman point of view here, so let´s wait for people in the know, the ones in the engineering industry or privy to its lingo to chime in.
This is just a nontechnical explanation.
