Mensagem:  I took some things you said personally, because they were clearly directed at me. It doesn't upset me, however; I know your experience of life has been far different from mine. I have also said some personal things about you, and I'm glad I've been able to "provoke" you into being reasonable. When I say you are didactic it is because of your insistence on treating the terms that we use here in their strictest acedemic meaning. In an informal setting that is semantic silliness, it distracts us from the real issues. Why do you want to be so technical about it? In the case of the term "anglo" you simply betray your un-scholarly ignorance. Did you know the term is short for "Anglo-Saxon"? Did you know that that term describes an approximate group of peoples that is only accurate for a certain time period in history? Those peoples were Angles and Saxons. There were also other tribes, Jutes, Danes, etc, etc who largely are the ancestors of modern "Englishmen". There are probably very few people in England and none whatever in America who can claim ancestry that is purely "Anglo" by that rigid definition. It has no modern relevance. I think you could have a lot to say if you would stop being rigid about terms and stop trying to prove that you know more than I do. If you are suggesting that there is discrimination regarding what Brazilians are allowed into the US, it could be true - I don't know anything about that. I think it is more likely that black Brazilians are less able to collect enough money to get here. I have read that there is a very large African population in Brazil. From what I have learned from the Brazilians I have met it is clear that there is a very strong class system in Brazil. What is interesting to me is whether it is largely tied into dialect as it is here in America.
