Mensagem:  You're right, they were wrong. Nevertheless, some of your own sentences such as-Have you been finishing your work yet? This sentence doesn't sound good in no native ears(My ears are very near-native). Anyway, like Pat, I, too, must've been sleeping in my ESL Classes. As I matter of fact, I would have to say that I couldn't've been sleeping, for the language methodology used in my high school was acquisition as opposed to learning. This was awesome, since I was already in the country. But as Pat said, I, too, call tell with 100% certainty whether a sentence is right or wrong. You, however, must've learned English through a "Learning" methodology. You Seem to be very confindent in naming the right tense terminologies. I guess this is all the more credit for Ricardo.
