Assunto:  Are you an English teacher or a teacher of English

Mensagem:  Why do some people say English teacher when they should say teacher of English? Is that acceptable as well?

As far as I know:
English teacher = a teacher from England
Teacher of English = a person who teaches English, regardless of his or her nationality

Is that right?
Cheers!
