| Mensagem: | Dear Pat: For a Portuguese speaker is kind of easy to learn the past participle because normally the sentence can be translated in same form into Portuguese. Anna had come before we noticed it. Anna tinha chegado (ou havia chegado) antes de nós notarmos. But The future present "We shall have gone", I think, even in English, it is not too often used, is it? Look at one example in a book that I own "O Verbo Inglês-- teo ria e prática" by Valter Lellis Siqueira: I won't have painted the whole house before next week: Some thing in Portuguese : "Eu não terei terminado de pintar a casa antes da semana que vem." we rather use : "Eu não sei se vou conseguir terminar de pintar a casa até a próxima semana" or "Eu não vou terminar de pintar a casa antes da próxima semana".
