Dear Jose, Well, "shall" is rarely used by Americans, but more commonly by the British. Consructions like "I will have gone by then" or "We will have finished by next week" are quite common, in fact. Certainly those Portuguese phrases translated into English would sound strange: "I am going terminated (finished) of to paint" or "I will have terminated of to paint" would be unintelligible. "I will have finished painting" (will have+past participle+present participle!) |
