Mensagem:  I think it depends on the sentence. Examples: I think we should build the barn a little to the west of here so it's closer to where the animals graze. No, that's too far west and not near a good water source or well. Okay, how about building it northwest of here on the hilltop? No, I want to use the land to the west of here for commercial purposes. I'll build a big shopping center there. West is best for that because it's not in an area zoned for high taxes. To the east is zoned agricultural lands and the taxes are lower. We need to save money any way we can. Go east for farming and west for investing in construction. Okay, I understand. I'll go to the west to build and to the east to farm. *** Exact same meaning: I'll go west to build and east to farm. --- it's just a matter of style.
