Mensagem:  Orlando, I used as my source "Longman English Grammar" by L.G. Alexander. After reading your email, I double-checked with "Master the Basics: English" by Jean Yates. They are consistent. What is your source? I recognize that a rule is not necessarily correct just because it can be found in a grammar book. "Longman" was one of several grammars used at UCR. I don't recall any two instructors there who agreed on the same book. Grammar rules appear to be less rules than they are observations. What are people saying? What are people writing? "The princess' wedding" simply does not sound right to my ears. How about to yours?
