Mensagem:  Here are some other possibilities. "To kick" and "to stroke" are verbs related to swimming, of course, but how about terms to show that the child has panicked or is simply unable to follow instructions? I'd use "to flail" and "to thrash". He is flailing his arms. He is flailing about. He is thrashing his arms. He is thrashing about.
