Who is in position of teaching me some details on English verb system. I mean: in Portuguese we have that division where we study moods, tenses and so on. I would like to know whether in English we have the equivalent for:
INDICATIVO SUBJUNTIVO IMPERATIVO
PRESENTE PRET.IMP PRET. PERF. PRESENTE AFIRMATIVO
AMO AMAVA AMEI AME
AMAS AMAVAS AMASTE AMES AMA
AMA AMAVA AMOU AME AME
AMAMOS AMÁVAMOS AMAMOS AMEMOS AMEMOS
AMAIS AMÁVEIS AMASTES AMEIS AMAI
AMAM AMAVAM AMARAM AMEM AMEM
PRET.+Q PERF FUT DO PRES. FUT DO PRET. PRET IMP SUBJ
AMARA AMAREI AMARIA AMASSE
AMARAS AMARÁS AMARIAS AMASSES
AMARA AMARÁ AMARIA AMASSE
AMÁRAMOS AMAREMOS AMARÍAMOS AMÁSSEMOS
AMÁREIS AMAREIS AMARÍES AMÁSSEIS
AMARAM AMARÃO AMARIAM AMASSEM
I just want to know how many moods we have in English, because I have already had other information about tenses and I think it´s easier to understand the tenses, but the moods I can´t understand the definition and couldn´t find how many they are and their names. I´ve looked up the following:
Each of several forms of a verb, indicating whether the verb is expressing a fact (see indicative), a wish, possibility or doubt (see subjunctive) or a command (see imperative).
Other search I did showed me:
“O que é Modo Verbal?
É a maneira como o verbo se apresenta para mostrar sua ação (ou estado).
São seis os modos:
Indicativo: Present-Imperfect-Perfect-Pluperfect-Future-Future Perfect-
ALL OF THIS GOT ME CONFUSED AND NOW I KNOW THAT I DON´T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE STRUCTURE OF THE VERB SYSTEM IN ENGLISH.
HELP ME PLEASE.
