Mensagem:  next to the bank usually means "ao lado do banco" near the bank means "perto ao banco" by the bank means about the same as near the bank My house is near the navy base. It's about a half of a kilometer to the fence. So, we are close. In fact we are so close that the airplanes fly right in front of our house. If you don't believe me just visit www.fotolog.net/beachcomber and look for some aircraft images. You will find a link to another Pensacola site at my flog. That's tio_bizz who has some links at his flog. It's a pyramid scheme to keep you from studying English!! My house is not next to the naval air station. However, we like to think that we are "next door" to it because we are neighbors. (neighbors....perto mas não ao lado um ao outro)
