Mensagem:  Nobrega is correct but let's take it a step farther. Pass means to have a passing grade. The index of how well the education system is doing is based on the percentage of "passed students" (or, those who passed the exam with a grade above a certain numerical value). If you want to really know about it just go to Google and type GCSE pass and you will instantly be directed to sites such as this one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/4202327.stm have fun doing the research.
