Mensagem:  'Grasp' is very often used figuratively or metaphorically (can you grasp what I am saying?), more so than the other two. 'Grip' is often used to refer to the strentgh of someone's hand literally, and someone's mental acumen figuratively - "he doesn't have a good grip on the situation". "I held the bar above my head" "I grip the bar and do a pull-up" "I grasped for the bar but fell to the ground"
