Mensagem:  I would not normally translate names (John, Henrique, Kastuya), but there are some exceptios. If you are writing about Christmas in English, I would not say "Papai Noel" unless I was writing about the Brazilian figure. The American Santa Claus is a bit different. In the case of saints, I think it would be foolish to write about "Sao Patricio" in English or "Saint Patrick" in Portuguese. What would be the point? On the other hand, in English I've read about "Dom Pedro". No attempt was made to Anglicize or Americanize his name.
