Morro de São Paulo
Morro de São Paulo, in island in Bahia near Salvador, has been considered a threatened paradise because of new wave of thousand of tourist visiting it every year.
Roberto Jorge, the island’s Secretário Director says: we know there is garbage problem. Some of it is left by tourist and some is washed up on the beach by tide, from Salvador. We have contractor who take it away by tractor, but we haven’t really got the money for a bug garbage disposal operation. But the biggest problem I find is that people here don’t take care of beautiful, protected areas like this.
The other day I saw a little kid take some trash his dad had thrown in I suppose to place our hope in this new generation who care about our environment.
